Advanced graphics can be overlayed on top of the playlist and can be used for simple channel branding or may include complex multi layered objects with tickers, rolls, crawls, time, countup/down and slideshows. The free app CG composer allows creation of graphics templates to be aired manually or associated as secondary events in the playlist for automatic workflows. CGcomposer allows importing of any bitmap file format, sequence of bitmaps or video file, and manages alpha channel for perfect transparencies. TGA or PNG sequences, animated GIF, Quicktime Anim and Prores 4:4:4:4 are fully supported for animations with alpha channel. Text and file paths for graphics can be specified in Xtrimmer, Xscheduler or Xplayout for dynamic text workflows like song info animations for music TVs, for example. Data source for text, rolls, crawls and tickers can be imported from TXT files, CSV or XLSX, updating automatically on content changes. Front color, back color, font and alignment are imported from XLSX files allowing rich text format for tickers, rolls and crawls. Animations can be inserted into cells as hyperlinks and aired seamlessly for a really professional look. XLSX formulas, macros and database connectors can be used to create your own custom application for CG management. In Xplayout the CG layer can optionally be output as a separate KEY and FILL SDI signal for external DSK insertion, or a NDI stream with alpha for Video over IP usage.

Alarm notification is achieved through SMS or email.

"You run it and it gives you a client, which has a Red Cross symbol and safety meter saying if your protection is weak, fair or good, and realtime virus scanning," said one solution provider who has seen and worked with the trial software but asked not to be named. "It is a threat to McAfee."

One solution provider now testing the software said the Windows user interface automatically offers prescribed "Actions" for users to take, as well as backup, antivirus scanning and firewall options that are easy-to-use and access.

According to documents provided to CRN, and screen shots of the user interface, the PC Satisfaction software's PC Safety Meter Score automatically changes the color of a user's screen to red or green, for example, to indicate the overall health of the computer. It also automatically runs virus scan after the software is installed and according to scheduled intervals following the initial scan.

Since it was first reported by The Wall Street Journal on Aug. 14, the Redmond, Wash., software giant has insisted the PC Satisfaction software is only a marketing trial to evaluate customer interest in Windows XP protection. However, partners and observers are cautiously awaiting the results of the trial.

The PC Satisfaction trial was conducted solely by the Windows XP team at Microsoft, but the company's Security Business unit is considering new security features across Microsoft's entire software portfolio, the spokesman said.

Microsoft would neither comment on the beginning and end dates of the trial nor the number of people invited to test the software. However, the company confirmed the technologies currently in the trial software are from Tiny Software, Santa Clara, Calif., and Authenium, Jupiter, Fla.

Tiny Software's firewall solution was selected because it tests outbound network messages, while Windows XP provides protection only for incoming messages, the spokesman said. Authentium's Command antivirus software was used because it easily fit into Windows XP, he said.

"If Windows didn't have so many vulnerabilities, we wouldn't have this problem," Pescatore said, adding that Microsoft's acquisition of GeDac and Pelican Software--and potential shipment of more protection products--is the wrong solution. "Microsoft should focus all of its security investment on making its products more secure faster, and not on buying security software companies. It should transform the antivirus market by making its products virus- and worm-proof, not enter the market to gain revenue by selling Band-Aids to cover vulnerabilities in its products."

Yet another source close to Microsoft speculated that the software giant may be looking to launch this as an add-on service to MSN for consumers and small businesses. "Maybe it's a way to add value to MSN," said the source, who asked to remain anonymous. "

By default, your NDI channels are available across your local network. Replace "Public" below with a private Group Name to enable Privacy. You can then share it with others to form your own private groups.

View or display any number of NDI video sources across your network. Incredibly powerful and versatile, NDI Studio Monitor runs on any compatible laptop or workstation, and allows you to see any available NDI channel in real time, arrange multiple NDI channels for live monitoring, and deploy instances for a range of professional signage and display applications.

Designate up to four unique NDI sources as video inputs for popular software applications that support a webcam. With NDI Webcam Input, NDI sources are recognized as standard Microsoft Windows video and audio sources, making it possible to elevate your video communications without increasing the complexity of your setup.

Import your media files captured and recorded from NDI sources into Adobe Creative Cloud software applications from your local drives or across your network using standard storage systems. Once the NDI Import I/O for Adobe Creative Cloud is installed, all Creative Cloud applications that use video will recognize the NDI files as another media option. Simply apply media to your timelines for editing and animation projects. Because NDI files are time-stamped during recording, complex multi-cam editing is an effortless exercise.

Stereo Tool is a software-based audio processor which offers outstanding audio quality and comes with many unique features. It is used by over 3000 FM stations ranging from small local stations to 50-100 kW stations and nation-wide networks with dozens of transmitters, thousands of streaming stations and many DAB+, HD, AM and TV stations. It can be used for both live and file based processing.

Alternatively, Stereo Tool can run inside most playout or streaming software. Depending on what your software support, you will need to download one of the VST or DSP plugins for that. If your playout or streaming software doesn't support audio processing plugins, you can instead route audio through the stand alone version via programs such as VB Cable or Virtual Audio Cable.

If your playout software supports VST 2 plugins, VST 3 plugins, DSP plugins or our own plugin format, then download the matching plugin or installer and install it in the proper location. The DSP plugins come with an installer that already recognizes a number of playout programs, if yours isn't supported, browse to the Plugins directory of it. The VST plugins need to be placed in the correct location manually, in most programs you need to specify where you want it to search for VST plugins. If our own plugin format is supported, the binary is usually delivered with the software.

If you want to feed Stereo Tool from a program that doesn't support audio processing plugins, or for example when you just want to send all the audio (eg. YouTube video's) through Stereo Tool, you need a 3rd party program to route the audio to Stereo Tool, which installs a "virtual" sound card. You can then send the audio from other software to that virtual sound card (or make it the default sound card in Windows, so all audio is automatically sent to it), and in Stereo Tool, read the input from the virtual sound card, and send the output to the real sound card. 2ff7e9595c
