Batman XXX: A Porn Parody is a 2010 pornographic superhero comedy film that parodies the 1960s Batman television series. It features many of the recurring characters, settings, and production elements of the series, but adds an explicitly sexual element which was not present in the original material. The film is the first of several films by Vivid Entertainment to feature parodies of well-known superhero portrayals in movies and television. The positive reaction to the film caused Vivid to announce plans for an entire line of similar films, to be released under the new Axel Braun-led imprint Vivid Superhero. Braun later directed another Batman-themed porn parody: 2012's Dark Knight XXX: A Porn Parody, where Batman is portrayed by Giovanni Francesco, who reprises the role in the 2013 film Man of Steel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody and in the 2015 film Batman v Superman XXX: An Axel Braun Parody.
The production used custom sets built by Film Studios LA.[1] Actor Nick Manning auditioned for the role of Batman in this film. Although the role went to Dale Dabone, Manning went on to play the Batman analogue in another Batman-themed porn parody that same year: Bluebird films' BatFXXX: Dark Knight Parody.[2] Additionally, Evan Stone (The Riddler) would go on to play Batman in Extreme Comixxx's The Justice League of Pornstar Heroes.[3][4] Actor Randy Spears sports a moustache covered in whiteface, creating a visual reference to Cesar Romero, who similarly painted over his notable moustache rather than shave it off for his role as the Joker. As reviewer Chris Sims writes, "considering that [Spears is] clean-shaven in the audition footage that's included as a bonus feature...I can only assume that he grew it just for authenticity."[5] The success of the film led Vivid to commit to producing additional superhero film parodies under a new, Axel Braun-led imprint: Vivid Superhero.[6][7]

A porn parody featuring a better Batman costume than its mainstream counterpart? A Catwoman who can actually kick ass? Zatanna? John Constantine? Nightwing? Poison Ivy? Batgirl? A Bane who can give his Hollywood counterpart a run for his money, and a Joker who's creepier than the late screen legend??? Welcome to the Porn Parody event of the summer! From adult powerhouse Vivid Entertainment and undisputed parody king Axel Braun, comes another epic exercise in geekgasmic film spoofing: The Dark Knight XXX.
One of the weirder aspects of being a comic book fan these days is that in addition to the major motion pictures based on your favorite super-heroes, you also have the inevitable porn parody to look forward to -- and I'll admit that with Vivid's The Dark Knight XXX, I really was doing just that. After all, I thought Axel Braun's take on Batman '66 was a hoot, and while few of the subsequent parodies have lived up to that standard, I was pretty interested in seeing where he'd end up when his starting point was Christopher Nolan's version. No matter what, I knew it was going to be weird. I just didn't think it would be weird like this.
To paraphrase Achewood, I ain't Frederick H. Vividvideo or anything, but I do have a pretty solid understanding of how parody works. When you promise "geekgasmic film spoofing," that sort of implies that there's going to be a level of lightheartedness and comedy that's just completely absent when your movie opens with a woman being raped and paralyzed in front of her father by a psychopath in clown makeup. You can't really come back from that.
The plot (which can be experienced as a 21-minute "Non-Sex" cut that's included) is particularly interesting, because it's very obvious from the start that Braun was trying to piece together something that would mirror The Dark Knight Rises, based on information gleaned from trailers and early reports. With the effort of trying to get Dark Knight XXX released at the same time as its big-budget Hollywood counterpart, Braun is making a parody of a movie he hasn't actually seen, which is seriously intriguing, despite the fact that it's about as far from my taste as it possibly could be.
Constantine (Clarke Kent) (yes, really) is also a highlight, possibly because he's one of the few characters that you can believe beyond a shadow of a doubt would show up in a porn version of the DC Universe. Kent honestly looks like he just stepped off a page of Hellblazer, and I'm going to go ahead and say it: This is the single best performance of John Constantine that has ever made it to film. Maybe he'll get a spin-off movie with the rest of the Vertigo characters.Hell, Braun might even be able to get Alan Moore to sign off on that one.
At this point, it's not a surprise that there's a porn parody of Nolan's Dark Knight films. But the fact that it's even more dark, depressing and utterly hopeless than the source material? That boggles the mind.

That's not the only similarity either: There's a behind-the-scenes featurette on the DVD that I find endlessly fascinating, and not just because it has Tori Black sitting around wearing only gloves and Catwoman ears talking about how great Batman '66 is, which is pretty much everything I've wanted to see since I was 13. In it, Braun talks about the porn parody and how it's been revitalized in the era of the Internet. Just like how anyone with a scanner, PhotoShop and ten bucks for a domain name can make their own comics, anybody with a webcam and an internet connection can make porn, and the impact has led to a changing landscape for both industries.
And the solution both industries have arrived at is to take their cues from the past. Thus, the revival of both Barry Allen and the porn parody, spiritual brothers who both died out around the dawn of home video, only to be reborn in an effort to attract new customers.
Another thing that comes through in the behind-the-scenes feature (and the screen tests, and most of the movie itself) is that everyone seems like they had a pretty good time making it. Admittedly, "making it look fun even if it isn't" is probably pretty high on the list of talents required for a porn star (right under "don't block the camera" and well above "don't pull a crazy face when you orgasm"), but seriously, they look like they're having fun. And why shouldn't they? I mean, Dale DaBone gets to be Batman and a porn star at the same time.
Which brings me to the actual sex. I'd say it's a little weird, but considering that it's a bunch of people dressed as Batman, the Riddler, Catwoman, Robin and Batgirl having sex with each other, you've probably already figured that out. I will say that it was the one part of the movie that didn't live up to my expectations, but that's largely because I've had a pornographic version of Batman '66 playing in my head for the past fifteen years. 2ff7e9595c
